Acupuncture in Pediatrics: Evidence-Based Applications
Within general pediatrics, there is increasing attention for integrative medicine, where complementary treatment methods are carefully employed alongside conventional care. Acupuncture can be a meaningful supplementary intervention for selected pediatric conditions, provided it is applied in an evidence-based, safe, and age-appropriate manner.
This one-day continuing education course focuses on the application of acupuncture in children with conditions for which scientific evidence is available. The course provides pediatricians and (pediatric) acupuncturists with tools to responsibly integrate acupuncture into the care for children, with attention to patient safety, communication with parents, and interprofessional collaboration within a network of conventional and complementary care providers.
