Mrs. Ines von Rosenstiel

Ines has been active for many years as a pioneer and advocate for the implementation of Integrative Medicine (IM) in healthcare in the Netherlands. One of the pillars is referring to evidence-based and safe complementary care, including acupuncture.

Motivation for the award

She has utilized her knowledge and quality as a medical specialist and IM physician for:

Setting up an IM consultation hour in the hospital for oncology patients.
Initiating a referral system with complementary healthcare providers – including acupuncturists – in the fields of oncology and pediatric medicine. She has reached out to NVA-acupuncturists in the Arnhem region for this purpose.
Establishing a space for complementary healthcare and acupuncture in cancer on the website kanker.nl.
Supporting the inclusion of acupuncturists in the IKNL cancer referral guide.
Delivering an inspiring and passionate presentation at the NVA annual meeting 2023 on Integrative Oncology (IO) and acupuncture in cancer.
Teaching about IO and science in acupuncture at the 6-day NVA postgraduate training in oncology 2023-2024 and 2024-2025.

Ines gives lectures in the Netherlands and abroad about IM where the science and application of acupuncture as a complement to regular care are part of it. In doing so, she ensures more support for complementary medicine, including acupuncture.
