Accreditation of further education
The NVA accredits only refresher days offered by educational institutions (EI) with which the NVA has concluded a refresher contract, or days offered by sister organizations of the NVA. In addition, accredited refresher days must be specifically aimed at acupuncturists.
Request Accreditation
When an OI has a refresher training contract with the NVA, it can offer the days it organizes for accreditation to the Training Department. This concerns both subject-related and Western medical training.
Accreditation fees
There are costs associated with an accreditation application. These can be found in the example Continuing Education Contract.
Procedure
The OI completes the application form (found on this page) and sends it to the NVA secretariat: nva@acupunctuur.nl
The OI will receive a confirmation of receipt and the invoice for the assessment of the refresher course/day from the secretariat.
If the Continuing Education department has approved the continuing education day/course, the OI will receive a notification as well as an invoice for payment of the costs for further processing and publication of the continuing education day/course. These amounts may be indexed annually.
The approved further education will be published on the members' section of the NVA website and in the association magazine, the Huang Ti. For courses that are resubmitted for accreditation within two years without changes, only the costs of approval and publication are due.
If the refresher day/course is rejected, the paid amount for the application will not be refunded. The accreditation conditions can be found in the sample refresher contract.
Individual accreditation requests and Western medical education
NVA members can request foreign course days and conference days on an individual basis. These days are also published so that other members can see that these days have already been accredited. There are some different rules regarding accreditation for the mandatory Western medical education.
