MISSION

The Dutch Association for Acupuncture stands for:

1. Advocacy and quality improvement and monitoring of the members, for the benefit of the health and well-being of the patient. We maintain and strengthen the professionalism of our professional group by actively supervising and promoting the quality and reliability of the practice by acupuncturists. 
   
2. Recognition, knowledge, and awareness of acupuncture as a form of treatment.

VISION

The Dutch Acupuncture Association strives for:

1. As the leading and largest professional association, safeguarding and enhancing the highest quality standard of acupuncturists in the Netherlands, for the benefit of reliable and professional care for the patient.
2. Ensuring that acupuncture, as a professional form of medicine with its own holistic identity, maintains a visible place within healthcare.
3. Active promotion of acupuncture aimed at the public, healthcare providers, the media, and politics.
4. Actively maintaining, strengthening, and building networks, connections, collaborations, and contacts with:
   a. Health insurance companies
   b. Healthcare providers and associations of healthcare providers in mainstream healthcare
   c. Healthcare providers and associations in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) nationally and internationally
   d. Patient associations
   e. Sister associations and umbrella organizations for acupuncture nationally and internationally.
5. Supporting and promoting scientific research on the effectiveness and efficacy of acupuncture, to increase knowledge and awareness of acupuncture as a professional form of medicine.
