MISSION

The Dutch Association for Acupuncture stands for:

1. Advocacy and quality improvement and monitoring of its members, for the benefit of the health and well-being of the patient. We maintain and strengthen the professionalism of our professional group by actively supervising and promoting the quality and reliability of the practice by acupuncturists. 
   
2. Recognition, knowledge, and awareness of acupuncture as a form of treatment.

VISION

The Dutch Association for Acupuncture strives for:

1. To safeguard and strengthen the highest quality standard of acupuncturists in the Netherlands as the leading and largest professional association, for the benefit of reliable and professional care for the patient.
2. To ensure that acupuncture, as a professional healing method with its own holistic identity, maintains a visible place within healthcare.
3. To actively promote acupuncture to the public, healthcare providers, the media, and politicians.
4. To actively maintain, strengthen, and build networks, connections, collaborations, and contacts with:
   a. Health insurers
   b. Healthcare providers and associations of healthcare providers in conventional healthcare
   c. Healthcare providers and associations in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) domestically and internationally
   d. Patient associations
   e. Sister associations and umbrella organizations for acupuncture domestically and internationally.
5. To support and encourage scientific research on the effectiveness and efficacy of acupuncture, to increase knowledge and awareness of acupuncture as a professional healing method.
