Accreditation of acupuncture programs
The Department of Education and Science determines the prerequisites for membership of the NVA. The department also oversees the quality of acupuncture training programs. A key guideline for this is the Professional Training Profile, which describes the knowledge and skills an acupuncturist must possess. An accredited acupuncture training program provides at least the training described and also has the flexibility to emphasize its own aspects.

If the acupuncture training meets the Professional Training Profile,
one can apply for accreditation at the Education and Science department. After
approval, the training contract below will be drawn up.
