Mrs. Marijke Hofs

On April 11, 2026, the board of the Dutch Acupuncture Association awarded the Monty Kraayeveld Medal to Mrs. M. (Marijke) Hofs.

She has dedicated her knowledge, commitment, and professionalism over many years to the development and strengthening of the NVA.

Motivation for the award

With a strong motivation to professionalize in an environment where passion is central, Marijke joined the NVA 23 years ago. This turned out to be a golden start for everyone.
She evolved into the central hub at the secretariat, overseeing all tasks with focus, aligning the department's wishes, the board's responsibilities, and the secretariat's supporting role meticulously.
From 2007, she participated in board meetings, ensuring NVA's policy goals with a collaborative attitude, and steering the association in the right direction even in challenging times.
She introduced Accountview, aligning accounting and administration more effectively and, as she put it, "as logically as possible," as part of NVA's further professionalization. To this day, this program remains the core of the membership administration.
Furthermore, she maintained NVA's corporate identity and, since its introduction in 2009, ensured consistent and careful communication. Her involvement grew into a strong commitment to promoting acupuncture to a wider audience.

Marijke's dedication and unwavering commitment to the NVA are of undeniable value. She has been a support at crucial moments and has contributed to many valuable and cherished memories, including general meetings, conferences, spring drinks, Rothenburg, and cadre days.
