How hygienic is a treatment with needles?
Acupuncturists affiliated with the NVA are required to work according to strict hygiene regulations. These apply to the treatment room, all procedures, and the use of needles. They work with sterile needles for single use. These are disposed of in a sealable needle container after the treatment. Some acupuncturists work with gold needles, which are sterilized after use with the appropriate equipment.
Does an acupuncture treatment hurt?
You barely feel the pricks of the thin needles. Sometimes people don't even feel that they are there. However, a kind of shock is experienced. This phenomenon is called Dé Qi and is evidence that the right spot is being targeted.
