Proficiency in Dutch Language
Mastering the Dutch language is important for conveying and understanding information from patient to therapist and vice versa. It also benefits communication with other parties in healthcare.
If you meet one of the following three conditions, the Language Requirement for admission is waived:
- successfully completed a Dutch-language education at minimum pre-university/college level;
- or successfully completed a Dutch-language education at minimum senior secondary/vocational level and successfully completed a Dutch-language acupuncture education (i.e. at least 80% of the classes in Dutch, exams in Dutch, internships in Dutch);
- or passed the NT2 Program II state exam.
If you do not meet any of the above requirements but you do meet:
- having successfully completed an English-language education at least at pre-university/higher professional education level;
- or having successfully completed an English-language education at least at senior general secondary education/middle-level applied education level and having successfully completed an English-language acupuncture education (i.e., at least 80% of the classes are in English, exams are in English, internships are in English);
- or demonstrating proficiency in the English language at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference in another way.
admission is possible on the condition that you commit to learning Dutch at level B2 in the first three (or four*) years of membership, to be demonstrated by passing the NT2 State Exam program II:
* Anyone who needs to further their education in the Dutch language as well as in MBK and/or WM-C, will automatically receive an additional year to meet the Language Requirement.
