Legal expenses insurance
The NVA does not have a collective Legal Expenses Insurance for its members.
However, the collective NVA professional and business liability insurance via the VvAA does provide legal assistance in case of a complaint procedure in accordance with the Wkkgz. So when a dispute is brought before the disputes committee to which you are affiliated. If you are not collectively insured, please check with your own insurance to see if you also have this coverage.
A business legal expenses insurance provides coverage for business conflicts, such as those related to payments, rent, (employment) contracts, etc. It can be useful to take out a business legal expenses insurance. Generally, you do pay a rather hefty premium for it. You can contact DAS or ARAG for this. A business legal expenses insurance specifically for healthcare providers includes coverage for criminal and disciplinary cases, as also covered by the limited legal expenses insurance (see below).
Limited Legal Expenses Insurance
This insurance covers the costs of criminal and disciplinary cases (at the medical disciplinary board/IGJ). If you work in your BIG profession (doctor, physiotherapist, midwife, etc.) and are collectively insured through the NVA, it may be useful to take out limited legal expenses insurance. This can be done individually through the VvAA. If you have a business legal expenses insurance for healthcare providers through DAS or ARAG, this coverage is included.
