Why become a member of the NVA
The NVA is the largest professional association for acupuncture in the Netherlands
We stand for quality improvement and monitoring of the professional practice of our acupuncturists, with professionalism and reliability being paramount. We also actively work towards recognition and knowledge sharing of acupuncture as a form of treatment.
Student Membership
You can become a member while still studying. This has the advantage that you not only have access to our Knowledge Centre and stay informed about everything related to your field via our newsletter and the Huang Ti membership magazine, but it also offers you the opportunity to go through the membership application process earlier. The approval process for actual membership can take some time.
As a member, you benefit from our unique involvement in practice management.
We support you from setting up your practice to enhancing your professional value as an acupuncturist. We are a reliable partner for health insurance companies and other relevant parties, keeping you informed of all regulations and important matters so you can focus on your wonderful profession!

- Member Portal: Access to extensive information on setting up and promoting your practice and everything you need to know about legal regulations regarding your practice
- Huang Ti: the Huang Ti journal is delivered to your mailbox 4 times a year
- Newsletter: regularly receive digital relevant information from the association
- Collective Professional Liability Insurance (PLI): NVA offers a cost-effective collective PLI through VvAA, which practicing members can join
- Starter Discount: Just graduated? Then you will receive a 50% discount on your membership fee in the 1st year and a 25% discount in the 2nd year
