mProve webinar Integrative Medicine
mProve is an innovative network of seven ambitious top clinical hospitals. Within mProve, there is a focus on Integrative Medicine. This means that the doctor talks to the patient about prevention, well-being, and lifestyle, and that there is openness about the patient's needs, about what a patient seeks in complementary care to address symptoms where conventional care has no answer. This is beneficial for the patient, as well as for the treating physicians and supporting nurses. Integrative Medicine is gaining ground not only in oncology but also in other specialties.
Acupuncture, Safe and Effective
Patients need guidance in their search for complementary treatments. For healthcare professionals in hospitals, it is important to be able to advise on the combination of conventional care and additional effective and safe care. Acupuncture is an example of this, and well-trained NVA acupuncturists provide that care.
On November 22, a webinar on Integrative Medicine was held with the participation of the mProve hospitals Rijnstate, Isala, and Maxima Medical Center. Below you will find the link. Many aspects are discussed, not only how useful this openness is, but also the obstacles and prejudices specialists face. The role of health insurers is discussed, as well as where patients and healthcare professionals can find information. There is still much work to be done, as it turns out, but Integrative Medicine is a great development!
