VAT matters
As an acupuncturist affiliated with the NVA, you are not liable for VAT on your acupuncture treatments, following the publication of a Policy Decision outlining the conditions in the Official Gazette on April 1, 2016.
However, VAT will still be applicable on the sale of herbs or other products (9%) or non-individual guidance, group Tai Chi classes, and similar services.
Therefore, you do not need to apply for a VAT number unless you also provide VAT-taxable services.
