Step 2: Pre-education
Until June 1, 2018, the NVA required a regular Western (para)medical education, at least at HBO level, as an admission requirement.
Starting from June 2018, acupuncturists who have completed or are completing a CPION-recognized MBK of 40 ECTS credits are also admitted. However, they must complete additional WM training during the first registration period of the practicing membership.
The following completed educations qualify for direct admission:
- University Medicine (Basic Physician)
- Physiotherapy
- Cesar / Mensendieck Exercise Therapy
- Chiropractic
- Osteopathy
- 4-year full-time course in naturopathy from the
Dutch College for Naturopathy in Hilversum
- Midwifery
- HBO Nursing (nursing)
- (MBO) Nursing with specialization training
- Occupational Therapy
- Dentistry
- Pharmacy (pharmacist)
- Dietetics
- Podiatry
