Who am I...
My name is Elena van Hattum-Gousseva. I hold a Master's degree in Pediatrics and I am a recognized NVA acupuncturist. In 1991, I graduated from the Saint Petersburg Pediatric Medical University, Russia, as a Pediatrician (MD). My diplomas have been recognized in the Netherlands by Nuffic and I am allowed to call myself a Doctorandus (drs.) in Pediatrics. 
Due to my experience as an ICU doctor and anesthesiologist (specialist in pain management), I am able to provide acupuncture treatments with a focus on pain relief.

After a trauma in 2013, I developed a condition known as 'frozen shoulder'. I couldn't lift my arm, every little step caused me pain. Following a 'second opinion' with a specialist, I was sent home with painkillers and advised to consider surgery in 2 years. A third orthopedic surgeon examined me in Belgium and recommended physiotherapy as well as visiting an acupuncturist for pain relief. That's how I ended up at my acupuncture teacher, Professor Dr. Yao. To my surprise, after the third treatment, I was able to lift my arm without painkillers or surgery.
