Acupuncture on Kanker.nl
Acupuncture can help during and after conventional cancer treatment. The fact that a large, well-informed platform pays attention to this contributes to more awareness about it. A number of NVA acupuncturists have made intensive efforts to provide the website kanker.nl with good information about acupuncture. Kanker.nl is an initiative of KWF, NFK, and IKNL.
On kanker.nl there is a whole page dedicated to acupuncture. You will find the NVA animation about acupuncture and two videos of patients sharing their experiences with acupuncture. Also references to the prominent CAM Cancer Consortium and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and guidelines for and research on the application of acupuncture in cancer.
Supplementary flyer on care for cancer
An organized flyer shows multiple complementary treatments that may be beneficial for symptoms caused by cancer or by the (conventional) treatment.
Acupressure for Nausea
Have you already seen our new page about acupressure for nausea? Nausea can be a side effect of cancer treatment, but can also occur with motion sickness and during pregnancy. Below you can click through to Acupressure for Nausea.
Acupuncture for cancer
Acupuncture cannot cure cancer. It is a valuable support, aimed at reducing side effects and complaints during and after treatment:
- Nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy
- Hot flashes and excessive sweating due to hormone therapy (also in men)
- Dry mouth
- Pain
- Fatigue
- Sleep problems
- Sadness and tension
