Chinese New Year 2026 - Year of the Fire Horse
On February 17, 2026, the Chinese New Year begins, marking the Year of the Fire Horse. A unique combination that only occurs once every sixty years. The last time was in 1966. This alone suggests that this will not be an ordinary year.
The Horse symbolizes movement, freedom, and decisiveness. The element of Fire enhances these qualities and adds intensity and passion. This is a year that invites action. To make clear choices and to follow your own path without hesitation.
At the same time, Fire requires balance. In Chinese medicine, the element of Fire is associated with the Heart and our passion. When the fire burns brightly, we experience enthusiasm and creativity. When it flares up without direction, it can turn into restlessness or impulsiveness. Especially in a dynamic year like this, inner alignment is essential.
The Fire Horse represents progress and innovation. Courageous steps and personal growth.
The Dutch Association for Acupuncture wishes everyone a healthy and inspiring Chinese New Year, where passion and wisdom go hand in hand!
