Integrative Oncology on breakfast table European Parliament
Not only in the Netherlands is the interest in Integrative Medicine growing, especially in Integrative Oncology. At the European level, there is also consideration of this important topic. How can conventional and complementary care complement and strengthen each other for the well-being of the (oncology) patient.
On June 7th, EUROCAM organized a breakfast roundtable discussion with the European Parliament together with the MEP Interest Group on Integrative Medicine and Health.
The aim of this Breakfast Roundtable was to explore how Integrative Oncology can reduce the suffering of cancer patients and improve long-term prospects. Continuing actions at the European level in this area are important, is one of the conclusions, in the interest of people with or after cancer.
"The health of patients should be central in every policy to tackle cancer," emphasized Manuele Ripa, MEP host of the roundtable breakfast. She underscored the importance of availability and accessibility of integrative health options in oncology care: "In healthcare, the focus should be on the individual, and patients should play an active role in it."
