NVA passes the 1000 members mark!

Posted on 02/10/2019 in Current Affairs

We are happy! The NVA has passed the magical threshold of 1000 members! We're not hanging out the flag yet, because on January 1, 2020, a group of members will undoubtedly retire and poof, we'll drop back a bit. But if we're still above 1000 members then, the first thing we'll do in January is hoist the flag! Or something like that. And you can be sure you'll notice that!

Our acupuncturists
Of the 1000 NVA members, more than 900 are graduated and practicing acupuncturists, who have often also specialized in Chinese herbal therapy, tuina, and cupping in addition to acupuncture. Traditional Chinese Medicine, of which acupuncture is an important and the most well-known pillar, also includes dietary and lifestyle advice. You can read about this regularly in these blogs. And let's not forget movement in the form of Tai Chi and Qi Gong.

The youth, the future
Of the remaining members, a large group is studying hard to become acupuncturists, our aspiring members. They greatly need the support of a professional association to make the transition to practice, with all the requirements that must be met in professional healthcare.
Then there are NVA members who, for various reasons, are temporarily not practicing or remain members out of commitment to the profession.
