Associate membership

The Student Membership is intended for individuals who are studying at one of the acupuncture training programs recognized by the NVA. It may be that one already meets the requirements for the pre-education or that the Western medical basic training (MBK) still needs to be completed.

After successfully completing the acupuncture study and/or the western medical training, upon your request, the Student Membership will be transferred to the Practicing Membership. The Student Membership can also be temporarily transferred to the Affiliate Membership if, due to circumstances, a practice has not yet been started.

Why become a member while you are still studying?
The application process for NVA membership can take several months. If you are already an aspirant member, the Student Membership can be converted to Practicing Membership within a month after obtaining your diploma. Your treatments will then be eligible for reimbursement by health insurers.

At the same time, you can take out a collective professional and business liability insurance, so that you can safely start working from the first day of the practicing membership. If the diploma ceremony is still pending, then you send in the proof of passing that you receive from the training.

Another benefit: during your studies, you will already be informed about practical matters because you will receive all member information.

As a student member, you are entitled to the following:

attendance at the annual general meeting, but you do not have voting rights
the association magazine Huang Ti. You will receive this four times a year
the Starter's Guide, for starting or restarting your practice
the professional profile of NVA acupuncturists
access to the members' section of the NVA website
