Mandatory training upon admission
Before you can become a member of the NVA, you must be able to demonstrate that you have followed enough further education to maintain the relevant knowledge from the moment you obtain the required diploma from the previous education or professional training.
You want to become a practicing or affiliate member
- For each year that you have been a graduated acupuncturist for more than 1 year, you must provide 2 NVA-approved professional development days, with a maximum of 6 days.
- If you hold a (para)medical diploma that qualifies for direct admission: starting from the admission date, you must have completed 1 WM day for each past year, with a maximum of 3 days.
- If you hold an MBK diploma of at least 40+ ECTS and the diploma is older than 5 years, then starting from 5 years after the diploma date, you must have completed 1 WM day for each past year, with a maximum of 3 days.
You want to become a student member and are still studying for your Acupuncture diploma
and you already have a diploma in Western Medical (WM) pre-education:
- that qualifies for direct admission: from the admission date, you must have completed 1 WM day for each past year, with a maximum of 3 days.
- in the form of a CPION-recognized MBK diploma of 40+ ECTS: if the diploma is older than 5 years, then starting from 5 years after the diploma date, you must have completed 1 WM day for each past year, with a maximum of 3 days.
You want to become a student member, still studying for your Western Medical diploma and you already have an acupuncture diploma:
- For each year that you have held the acupuncture diploma for more than 1 year, you must be able to provide 2 NVA-approved professional development days.
