Acupuncture in IVF in the news
22/05/2018
The Volkskrant reported last week on Australian research on IVF. 'Acupuncture during an IVF treatment does not lead to more births,' the VK headlines. Not surprising, considering the research was conducted on a relatively small group of women, all of whom received three standard treatments around the implantation.
The good news is that we can dismiss this specific protocol as a guideline.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, an individual diagnosis and a tailor-made treatment are the standard. That is a completely different approach. Additionally, it is important to start acupuncture at least 6 to 8 weeks before the replacement, possibly in combination with Chinese herbs.
Previous studies show that a personalized treatment can indeed lead to positive results. Read more about this topic on the blog of Gilles Stoop, NVA acupuncturist.
