Juliette Weersink
For the Acupuncture Week, we asked our members to share their most original tip to help clients find balance.
This year, we congratulate Juliette Weersink for winning the first prize!
Her submission consists of a beautiful, professional photo of herself while performing a treatment. Additionally, she provides a very nice explanation on how a conscious, simple approach can help clients with recovery and balance. By incorporating small rituals and focusing on breath and energy, she guides them to calmly reconnect with their bodies and experience trust in the natural healing process. Her tip embodies the principle of Wu wei: allowing space, sinking instead of forcing, thus making balance and resilience tangible again.
With her contribution, Juliette wins a continuing education credit worth €500!
Submission Juliette:
From Burnout to Balance with the Power of Acupuncture
'After a burnout, the body is often exhausted, the fire extinguishes, and the breath remains high in the chest. In my practice, I guide clients step by step back to their center, the lower Dantian, the energetic center in the lower abdomen where peace, warmth, and life energy are born.
During the treatment, I use specific acupuncture points such as REN4, REN6, and ST36 to remind the body of its natural rhythm. Moxa warms, soothes, and invites the Qi to descend, from the head to the abdomen, from thinking to feeling.
I guide clients in the 'Womb Breath Ritual': hands resting on the lower abdomen, three slow breaths bring warmth and awareness back inside. This simple exercise they can also do at home to calm the nervous system and support recovery from within.
It is a symbol of recovery, of returning home to the body once again.
Balance does not come from doing more, but from sinking deeper. With each needle, each breath, energy becomes palpable again and the trust returns that life may flow through you.'
