Chamber of Commerce registration
If you start working as an acupuncturist as a self-employed entrepreneur, you must register in the Chamber of Commerce's Trade Register (KVK) in your region beforehand. Even if you will initially treat few patients, this is mandatory. You pay a one-time fee for registration with the KVK. Your KVK number must be stated on your letterhead, invoices, brochures, website, etc. If you work solely as an employee, you do not need a KVK number.
Reporting to IGJ and registering with Vektis
After registering with the Chamber of Commerce, you must report to the IGJ yourself, before you are allowed to start providing care. You will then be included in the National Care Providers Register and can then request AGB codes. When registering with Vektis for your AGB practice code, you must include your registration with the Chamber of Commerce.
After registering with the Chamber of Commerce, you will automatically receive a message from the tax authorities for the application of a VAT number (see the VAT information at the bottom of the Practical Matters page).
