My name is Carla Oostveen. Ever since I was young, I have been interested in health and disease, and also always fascinated by people's life stories. When I encountered the philosophy behind Traditional Chinese Medicine, I felt at home. Everything seemed to come together in this. In my work, I meet and speak with many different people, and the challenge is always to determine the origin of certain complaints. Because that is the beauty of Traditional Chinese Medicine; the human body is viewed as a whole. Body and mind are not separated, and the focus is on treating the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms.

If you decide to come to my practice for treatment, it starts with an intake interview where I go through a questionnaire with you and apply pulse and tongue diagnostics. I work out this information together to arrive at a Chinese medical diagnosis. From there, the treatment plan is developed. The second time you come, we discuss the treatment plan and the first treatment can take place. After four to six weeks, the initial improvements should be clear, and I can determine the further course of action. What else is needed or can be reduced? If there are no improvements, then I review the accuracy of the diagnosis and my treatment strategy. Everything is always done in consultation with you.

After graduating, I first delved into everything related to gynecology: menstrual complaints, pregnancy-related issues, childbirth support, support for IVF and IUI treatments, infertility problems in general, and menopausal symptoms. Later, I broadened my education. I now treat a wide range of complaints such as all kinds of pain, insomnia, skin conditions, etc.
