Heartburn, acid reflux

Have you ever suffered from heartburn? An idiotic name perhaps, but probably recognizable. People who experience heartburn after a meal will certainly recognize it. Funny how the Chinese names for diseases are so picturesque. For example, in China, people with a hangover have fog in their head. Due to the alcohol from the day before, they can no longer think clearly and move slowly, as if they are groping their way through dense fog. The term heartburn, symbolizing acid reflux, is just as recognizable.

Nutrition
You probably already know that it's wise to drink less coffee and eat less fat or spicy food when dealing with heartburn. In China, all of this is considered yang food and yang promotes fire. However, there are still more foods that strengthen stomach acid.
So, you'd better avoid the following products: fresh ginger, garlic, cinnamon, pepper, anise, dill, dates, leek, onion, ham, chicken, and fatty fish varieties, such as mackerel.

What should you eat the most?
Yin foods extinguish stomach acid due to their cooling nature. So, you should eat these more often. Think of tomato juice, watermelon, strawberries, berries, pear, raw or lightly cooked vegetables, cucumber, lettuce, beets, bean sprouts.

Acupuncture
To ensure that your stomach is less likely to be upset, it is wise to massage a few acupuncture points every day. These points can be massaged for two minutes daily.

Spleen 2
This point is located on the side of the foot, just above the attachment of the big toe.
