Mental Health Week: Focus on Emotional Well-being
Everyone experiences stress, tension, or a period when emotions seem out of balance. Often, these feelings are a normal reaction to events in life. Sometimes, complaints persist longer or have a greater impact on daily functioning.
From June 1 to June 7, it is Mental Health Week. A great opportunity to reflect on the importance of emotional well-being and self-care. Acupuncture can also be a valuable addition for some people in supporting relaxation and emotional balance.
A Healthy Emotional Balance
While we recommend that you always consult with conventional doctors and therapists for serious mental issues, acupuncture can contribute positively to the regulation of emotions. Acupuncture focuses on restoring balance in the body and can help alleviate stress, anxiety, and mood swings. Stimulation of acupuncture points shows a response in the regulation of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins*. These are important substances that influence our mood. In this way, acupuncture can contribute to better emotional balance and relaxation during stressful periods. It often works well alongside other (conventional) treatment plans.
