Giving birth with primal force
Almost every pregnant woman dreads giving birth. During your pregnancy, you will hear birth stories from others, whether asked for or not. These stories can include accounts of smooth deliveries, but you may also have to deal with real horror stories. You should try to set those aside as quickly as possible because one thing is certain: every birth is different, and there is little to predict how it will unfold.
You can do a number of things to maximize the chances of a smooth delivery. An acupuncturist can help you with that very well! For example, he or she can help you with:
- Reduce stress
- Combat pain
- Induce or facilitate contractions, relieve pushing pains
- Ensure you enter labor energetically
- Prevent having to give birth with flu or a severe cold
Nutrition
As you know, nutrition is an important part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. By eating certain foods from week 37 onwards, you can prepare your body optimally for childbirth. The following foods enhance your endurance and ensure that you can tap into primal strength. Both will be very useful during childbirth. That's for sure.
- chicken soup with carrot and parsley - thick soups
- mashed potatoes - millet - hotchpotch - sweet rice
- parsley - legumes - pumpkin - fennel - carrots
- chicken fillet
- oats - rice pudding
- pine nuts - pistachios - walnuts
- honey - cinnamon - coconut - raisins apple compote prune, apricot, and apple compote (tutti frutti)
- fennel tea
Acupuncture
In addition to nutrition, acupuncture is an important tool to help you have the smoothest possible delivery. The following points can be massaged regularly by the person supporting you during your delivery:
Do It Yourself
If there is no one available to give you a massage, it is wise to buy a pack of split peas in advance. With this, you can take care of the massage yourself. Here's how to do it: Stick the split pea with the flat side on a piece of adhesive tape and stick the rounded side on the point to be massaged. This way, the point will be stimulated automatically while you can focus on the delivery. If the pain becomes too much for you, press on the point in between to alleviate the pain (see above left picture).
By following these tips, the chances are high that in a few weeks, your story will also be about a smooth delivery!
