Cancer Referral Guide
NVA acupuncturists who meet our specific quality requirements can be included in the Cancer Referral Guide of IKNL (Integral Cancer Center Netherlands).
When you receive a cancer diagnosis, your life changes drastically. Not only do you have to deal with an emotional shock, but you usually immediately enter an intensive research and treatment trajectory. The treatments can have side effects and often a period of uncertainty begins, during which you may feel tense and anxious. Acupuncture treatments can provide support in this.
What can acupuncture support?
Acupuncture cannot cure cancer, but can be used effectively as a complementary treatment alongside a regular regimen. This can be during treatments at the hospital as well as in the period thereafter. Acupuncture can provide support with:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Fatigue
- Hot flashes and excessive sweating (also in men)
- Pain complaints
- Neuropathy (nerve pain)
- Dry mouth and mucous membrane complaints
- Sleep problems
- Decreased appetite and digestive problems
- Feelings of sadness and tension complaints
