My name is Hester Hanken, I am an acupuncturist in my practice Acupuncture Pure Woman in Amersfoort. I am married to Rob and we have four children together; three adult children and a teenage daughter. Since 2005 I have been living in Amersfoort, before that I lived in Breukelen where I was also born. Before becoming an acupuncturist, I always had a creative job at various large retail companies, from corporate identity development, trend presentations to store layout. But after many years of working in retail, I completely changed course. I started studying Traditional Chinese Medicine/acupuncture at Qing Bai Academy. I always say: After years of focusing on the outside - styling, color, design - it was time for the inside: health, well-being, and relaxation. This choice has positively changed my life in a very special way. Every day feels like a gift that I get to practice this beautiful and special profession.

After completing the four-year acupuncture training, I started my own practice. Over the past years, I have treated many women and as a result, I have also taken many additional courses, specifically focused on women. That is why I have decided to fully focus my practice on women and their discomforts, such as menstrual complaints, unfulfilled desire for children, pregnancy problems, breast cancer, menopause, insomnia, etc. Through my experiences, accumulated knowledge, and many additional courses, I know that my strength lies in helping women, which makes me happy.
