My name is Roland van der Putten. The road to get where I am now was a bit ... After high school (1991) I was convinced that I wanted to join the army. I worked there for several years and learned, among other things, how to teach. However, due to an injury, I ended up in a rehabilitation program and then decided that I needed a change: I went back to studying. In 2000, I obtained my diploma in physiotherapy from the HAN University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem and Nijmegen.

After some detours, I have been working as an independent physiotherapist in Amsterdam since 2005. Actively guiding people with exercise therapy, so that they heal themselves, is my top priority as a physiotherapist. However, in practice, I often encountered situations where physiotherapy did not provide a complete solution. In search of broadening my perspective, I then started a course in acupuncture.

In June 2008, I graduated with honors as an acupuncturist from the TCMA in Amsterdam. Since then, I have been working as an acupuncturist within my own physiotherapy practice, now located at 26 Eerste Schinkelstraat in Amsterdam. In addition, I work at the Center for Integrative Medicine in Amsterdam and since December 2019, I have a branch in Beneden Leeuwen in Gelderland.

Since 2009, I have been part of the teaching team at the TCMA. In that year, I also started the herbal medicine course at the TCMA. I completed this course in 2011. I now apply Chinese herbal medicine as a complement to my acupuncture.

By combining the knowledge and skills I have gained in the above studies, I try to come up with broader solutions, giving the patient more control over their health. In addition to a high degree of interest and curiosity, my drive to seek solutions stems from the rehabilitation process I once went through myself.
