Drukpunt- Acupunctuur

'When I turn fifty, I'm going to study acupuncture,' I said to my brother. 'I'm in!' he said. Unfortunately, that last part was not going to happen because he passed away at a young age from cancer. Nevertheless, I decided to pursue the training, with him in mind! 

I was inspired by treatments I underwent myself for menopausal symptoms, I was convinced. I have never been one for pills and try to solve it with a healthy lifestyle, always thinking: why do I have this complaint? 

I was trained as a nurse in psychiatry. After that, I started working as a Community Psychiatric Nurse. I have been doing that for over 30 years now. With pleasure. Meanwhile, I became more and more interested in alternative treatments. I started with the reflexology training and completed it. I took a course in relaxing massage and a course to become a chair masseur. I was a chair masseur at my job for years. I have stopped doing that. I took a detour to supervision and guidance at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and now I am an acupuncturist. Followed at the TCMA, completed in August 2020 and received my diploma in September 2020. Everything I had in mind about how to deal with health and illness came together for me in this training. I also use what I have learned in my work as a Community Psychiatric Nurse because it can be very useful, of course without needles. Since January 1, 2021, I have found a practice space and as of March 1, 2021, I have joined the NVA. I am extremely happy and hope to build a successful practice. Psychiatry and mental/emotional complaints, nothing is strange to me, but of course you can also come to me for other complaints, such as sleep problems, organ complaints, skin problems, etc. 

Since August 2024, I have moved to Drenthe and as of April 1, I have a practice in Meppel. I still work in community psychiatry. I have completed the 6-day oncology training for acupuncturists and hope to further develop in that area.
