Praktijk voor Acupunctuur Ilse Tomassen

My name is Ilse Tomassen. After completing my physiotherapy training in 1990, I gained years of experience at, among others, the Slingeland Hospital, various practices, and the Klimmendaal rehabilitation center in the Child & Youth department. Through a colleague, I came into contact with Traditional Chinese Medicine and became so fascinated that I decided to delve into it. In 1995, I obtained my acupuncture diploma from the European University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Since 2001, I have fully dedicated myself to acupuncture. What I find fascinating about Traditional Chinese Medicine is that it looks at the functioning of the whole person. You are truly engaged with the individual and their well-being. In China, it is said that acupuncture treats the sick person rather than the disease. I also consider becoming aware of the causes of symptoms and preventing future complaints to be an important part of the treatment process.

By attending further training courses, I have further specialized in oncology, fertility/infertility, pregnancy, menstrual and menopausal complaints, and headaches, but you can also come to me for other complaints.

I work closely with various general practitioners, physiotherapists, midwives, the integrative medicine department of the oncology unit at Rijnstate Hospital, and I am involved in a multidisciplinary headache clinic.
