'I have been brought back to life from a dead little bird!'

What was the reason for you to visit the Acupuncturist?
‘First, I was treated for my neck complaints by a physiotherapist for a while, but unfortunately, those treatments did not yield a positive result. I also tried to get rid of my neck complaints with manual therapy, but that only made my complaints worse.

I couldn't move anymore. Couldn't turn my neck. Couldn't go anywhere. Couldn't drive anymore. I mainly stayed at home like a little dead bird.

Then a friend suggested: Why don't you try acupuncture for once?
That seemed like a good idea to try, and that's how I ended up at Esther Buquet. She really helped me fantastically!’

How was your first experience when you came to Esther?
‘I entered a very pleasant and calm environment with nice music in the background and quickly felt at ease. Of course, the first time is always exciting because you don't really know what to expect, but Esther managed to make me feel comfortable. Esther listened well, empathized. We had a really good connection. Soon I had the feeling: This is going to be okay.
Once I got home after that first treatment, I became emotional. The tension was released. I finally regained some stability.’

How many treatments did you eventually have for your neck complaints?
‘In total, I went to Esther nine times. At the end of that series, I had my life back. I can move my neck freely again. I can drive again. I have become lively again from being like a dead bird.’

How did the entire process go for you? Did you notice benefits from the treatments quickly?
'As I mentioned, the first time was of course a bit nerve-wracking, what awaits me? But Esther was there for me, listened to me, and managed to give me hope and support again. The next time, I could relax much more. It was very pleasant. From the 5th treatment, I could drive there myself. Earlier, I had to be driven because I really couldn't drive. But from that moment on, I dared to do it. That was a very clear positive result for me. After that, it kept getting better and better. After the 9th treatment, I truly felt reborn. I was a different person again.'

It sounds like you are also very enthusiastic about Esther's approach!
'Absolutely! I felt heard right away. She empathized with me and was there for me. I also tell everyone how amazing my experience is and encourage people to give Acupuncture a chance. People may say it's scary with those needles. I say: 'It's nothing!' The first time may feel strange, but it's not bad at all. They use very thin needles that they insert into your skin. By the second time, you actually welcome them because you know why you're doing it.'

What do you say to others who could also benefit from Acupuncture?
'Give it a try. It will transform you! For me, it's a story with 9 stars and I'm more than happy to spread the word about how incredibly well I've been helped with acupuncture.'
