Oncological pain and acupuncture
It is sometimes claimed that there is no evidence that acupuncture works. But that's not true. Just take a look at the Dutch Acupuncture Knowledge Center on this website. There we publish step by step more and more available research on the effectiveness of acupuncture.
EBA Summaries
EBA stands for Evidence Based Acupuncture, or 'acupuncture based on evidence'. Research is being conducted worldwide on the effectiveness of acupuncture. Fortunately, there are people with expertise who compile these studies. This makes the information readable and understandable for anyone interested, without needing a university degree. For that, we are thankful!
Oncologic Pain and the Benefits of Acupuncture
Pain is very common among former cancer patients and can be caused by cancer cells invading organs, soft tissues (nerves and blood vessels), or bones. This pain can also arise from medical treatments for cancer, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, and surgery. Compared to (pain) medication, which is associated with side effects and lacks sufficient clinical evidence of effectiveness, acupuncture offers a safe, cost-effective, and evidence-based treatment for oncologic pain.
