Dispute Resolution Body Foundation Care Dispute
A NVA acupuncturist is (usually) affiliated with the Dispute Resolution Foundation Stichting Zorggeschil, recognized by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. This is an independent committee that handles your complaint with the utmost care and confidentiality, under the chairmanship of a lawyer, in accordance with the Dispute Resolution Foundation Regulations. The committee consists of members representing patients and members representing healthcare providers.
The Disputes Committee Zorggeschil only handles complaints submitted in writing. Anonymous complaints will not be processed. Filing a complaint on behalf of someone else is only possible under certain conditions.
Complaint fee
Before your complaint is processed, you pay a one-time fee of € 50 to the Disputes Committee. If you are found to be in the right, the care provider may be ordered to pay a complaint fee to you as the complainant. You as the complainant may be ordered to pay a contribution of up to € 500.
Ruling
The Zorggeschil Foundation has the authority, in accordance with the Quality, Complaints and Disputes Care Act (Wkkgz), which has been in effect since 01-01-2017, to award a complainant compensation of up to € 25,000. The ruling of the dispute resolution body is binding. This is legally regulated in the Wkkgz.
Employment
If your therapist is employed, complaints will be handled by the disputes committee of his/her employer. Please contact them.
