Acupunctuur Heemstra

My name is Irene Heemstra. Since April 2024, I have been both a doctor and an acupuncturist. Since my medical studies, I have also been interested in forms of healing that fall outside conventional medicine. I went in search of a healing method that has proven itself abundantly and in which I have confidence. This led me to acupuncture.

Acupuncture is a valuable addition to what conventional medicine has to offer. Some conditions are difficult to treat conventionally (such as irritable bowel syndrome or menopausal symptoms). Sometimes conventional treatment has unpleasant side effects. Acupuncture looks from a different perspective and therefore offers different treatment options. Acupuncture and conventional medicine can complement each other, ultimately benefiting the patient.

In the spring of 2025, I will complete the course Oncology for Acupuncturists. Acupuncture offers a very valuable addition to counteract side effects and to help people feel not only physically but also mentally better during and after a challenging anti-cancer treatment journey.
