My name is Marie-José van der Putten. I have been practicing acupuncture as a method since 1985 in my practice. In addition, I have been a physiotherapist and psychosomatic physiotherapist since 1978. Acupuncture as a method stems from a vision in which the human being is seen as an integral part of his environment. All processes in humans are connected to each other and in response to environmental influences (nutrition, circumstances, lifestyle). Physical, emotional, and mental development constantly influence each other. This vision seems to be gaining more recognition in our Western thinking about health problems. The terms and concepts used are different from Western thinking but often approach what we ourselves notice when we don't feel well and cannot function as desired.
