Carpe Diem

My name is Tileke Bos. I was immensely fascinated by the stories of my brother, one of the first general practitioners in the Netherlands who also practiced acupuncture. I want to do this too, I thought. And from the very first moment during the first lecture, I knew I was in the right place. That feeling has never left me in all those 34 years.

Shortly after graduating from the Anglo-Dutch College of Acupuncture, I started teaching there and for a few years I was head of the internship clinic. In 2002, together with six other colleagues, I founded the TCMA because we had a clear vision of what ideal acupuncture education should look like. Teaching and working in my practice constantly vie for the title of favorite, but in any case, they ensure a very pleasant cross-fertilization.

The relentless unity between body, mind, and soul on the one hand, and the connection with the environment on the other, are the pillars of my approach and treatment. Searching together with the patient for 'How did it come to this?' and 'What now?' I find essential.

I am grateful to Traditional Chinese Medicine for the logical and wise framework within which life can be understood, and for providing me with the most beautiful profession in the world.
