Thriving Warrior

My name is Mark van Baal. I work at the practice as a trainee acupuncturist with Dr. Jie Shan Chen on Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday mornings.

In addition, I am a coach with a holistic approach. Holistic coaching to me means guidance on a physical, mental, emotional, and cognitive level. And in the areas of (self) leadership, interaction, and meaning. Acupuncture is a holistic approach that primarily focuses on restoring and maintaining the balance and harmony of your mind, body, and soul.

My role as a coach

As a coach, I noticed physical sensations in myself when discussing emotional topics with my clients. I noticed that there was a relationship between organs and emotions that we also recognize in our language. An example of this is that when we are angry, we talk about 'having something on your liver'. By further investigating this, I discovered that Traditional Chinese Medicine clearly sees a relationship between imbalance (cause of complaints and illness) and poorly processed emotions.

During my acupuncture studies, I noticed that each energy point (acupuncture point) has a specific relationship with an emotional theme and that I feel those specific points in the interaction with the client on an emotional level. I am empowered by the combination of coaching and acupuncture to guide my client towards more balance.

I work with the following TCM disciplines: and the following related disciplines:
