My name is Carine Goos and I am the founder of Acupuncture Emmeloord. In 2006, I graduated as a physiotherapist from the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen. I worked with great passion for over twelve years in a large rehabilitation center in Haren. Here, I gained a lot of work experience with various complaints and conditions. Despite being able to help many people, I noticed that physiotherapy alone provides a limited insight into the origin of complaints and how they are maintained. I quickly became fascinated by Eastern medicine, especially acupuncture. In 2010, I took the step to start studying Acupuncture at the TCMA. I successfully completed the course in 2013. In my view, body and mind are inseparably connected, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (including acupuncture) pays full attention to this. The focus is on finding the cause of the complaints rather than just treating the symptoms. It is a treatment method that I fully support.

In 2014, my family and I moved from Groningen to the Polder, the place where I was born and raised. After my move and becoming a mother, I felt it was time to follow my heart. I wanted to continue my passion and enthusiasm for acupuncture, so in 2016, I started my own practice in Emmeloord. For a few years, I combined my acupuncture practice with my work as a physiotherapist at the Center for Rehabilitation in Haren. The practice quickly became successful, and I had to make a difficult choice. As a mother of three sons, I decided to temporarily stop working as a physiotherapist and focus entirely on Acupuncture Emmeloord. I will definitely keep up with my physiotherapeutic knowledge because what could be better than working with knowledge from the Western medical world combined with Eastern medicine? Not competitive, but seeking where the two can complement each other!

The decision to fully focus on Acupuncture Emmeloord turned out to be very successful, and I have never regretted it; my heart is there. The practice is growing, so I am often not working alone anymore. In addition, in 2022, I started studying Chinese Herbal Medicine to complete the picture!

My approach is down-to-earth and enthusiastic, with sufficient attention and time for the patient!
