I started my career in the 1980s in healthcare. Over the years, I have worked as a nurse in various places, including in psychiatry and at the academic hospital in Leiden. When I first came into contact with complementary care in 1998, a whole new world opened up for me. Because I was so drawn to this way of working, years later, in 2001, I went back to studying; Traditional Chinese Medicine. I even packed my bags for an internship in China. Since 2005, I have been working as an acupuncturist in Alphen aan den Rijn.
