Practice for (sports) acupuncture.

My name is Brechte van der Laan. In 1998, I graduated from the Hogeschool Leiden as a physiotherapist. I worked in physiotherapy from 1998 to 2016, often combining work in a private practice and intramural settings. Working as a physiotherapist and building my own practice was very diverse, but it became too busy to combine. In November 2015, I decided to resign as a physiotherapist and focus entirely on my own practice.

In 2004, I came into contact with acupuncture for the first time. I was captivated by it. Treating people as a whole instead of just a part of them appealed to me. In 2005, I made the decision to start my acupuncture training at the TCMA. In June 2008, I obtained my diploma and established my practice. After receiving my diploma, I specialized further.

My areas of expertise are:

Musculoskeletal complaints: pain complaints, movement restrictions, muscle and tendon (pain) complaints, loss of strength, neck and back pain, tennis elbow, sprains, (sports) injuries, recovery after orthopedic surgeries.

Gynecology: menstrual complaints, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), menopausal symptoms, infertility issues, guidance for IUI/IVF/ICSI processes, pregnancy-related complaints.

Nervous system: migraines, stress and burnout complaints, sleep problems.

In 2016, I successfully completed the training to become a sports acupuncturist.

My logo consists of the yin-yang symbol with the Vitruvian Man (originally drawn by Leonardo da Vinci) inside. The Vitruvian Man symbolizes physiotherapy for me. My logo represents a beautiful blend of Eastern and Western medicine, showing that one does not hinder the other.
