Acupunctuur Voorburgseweg/Phyodos

J.M. Bik-Nowee. My heart lies with Japanese acupuncture Toyohari because this is a very subtle and gentle form of working. It is very relaxing to undergo and suitable for people who do not like needles and for children. The needles touch the skin and are not deeply inserted. Points are treated one after the other and their effect is checked before moving on to the next point. This way it is easy to feel what a point does for you. The result of the treatment is certainly not less than when inserting needles and leaving them for a while.

After my physiotherapy studies, I studied Chinese acupuncture at the EUTCM (European University of Traditional Chinese Medicine). Since 1991, I have been working as an acupuncturist in the practice where I also worked as a physiotherapist for a long time, now practice Phyodos in The Hague. Since 1997, I have had my own acupuncture practice on Voorburgseweg in Leidschendam. After obtaining my acupuncture diploma, I continued to study: acupuncture for children (1995), Japanese acupuncture Toyohari (2000), Japanese acupuncture for children Shonishin (2002), Manaka (2003), Advanced Toyohari (2005), and Kiiko Matsumoto-style acupuncture (2017). In 2006, I completed the Teacher Training for Toyohari and since then I have been teaching for the EBTA (European Branch of the Toyohari Association) in the Netherlands and abroad. In 2015, together with colleague Leon d'Oliveira, I founded the Meridian School, a postgraduate institute for acupuncturists where we introduce them to Meridian Therapy.

To keep my knowledge and skills up to date, I not only attend western medical postgraduate courses but also participate in an annual workshop with experienced Japanese Toyohari teachers.
