Physical - breathing
We start with the most important thing, which is breathing. First, we need to try to bring the breathing down. To start with, focus on the area between the navel and ribs, the digestion area, our second buffer. Do this by placing your hands between the navel and ribs and visualizing your hands making contact with this area. Breathe in and out through the nose, allowing your belly to expand on inhalation and contract on exhalation. Make sure to keep your shoulders relaxed. Do this for about ten minutes.
Energy from Your Origin
To further bring down your breath, repeat this exercise, but now place your hands on the area below your navel, our first buffer. Try to breathe as evenly as possible. Over time, you will notice that your breathing becomes calmer and a short pause occurs naturally after both the inhalation and exhalation. With this exercise, you strengthen your most basic powers. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we call this your energy from your origin, and it is the first buffer against an attack from outside, the external devil.
