Acupunctuurpraktijk To the Point
I came into contact with Chinese medicine when I was still a nurse. I am still a nurse, but now that has become secondary and Chinese Medicine has become primary. During my nursing education, I learned a lot about holism, but unfortunately, little of that was put into practice. When I attended an open day at a Shiatsu training, I was so touched that I immediately started that training. I learned about meridians and how to feel the acupuncture points, and we took blindfolded exams. Some years passed, and I had children. In the first years, I stayed at home to be a full-time mother, but after some years, I started to feel the itch again and began the acupuncture training at Qing Bai. I enjoyed it and absorbed all the knowledge offered like a thirsty person, and after graduating, I immediately started my own practice and never stopped learning. I have done many additional courses and training, such as the Tan Balance Method, Tuina, Pediatric Tuina, ear acupuncture, Chinese dietary therapy, and gynecology. I am now also a certified herbalist and work a lot with Chinese herbs in practice. Another area of interest is the medicinal use of mushrooms (mycotherapy). Last year, I followed the specialization "Oncology for acupuncturists" through the NVA, and medicinal mushrooms were mentioned regularly there. To gain more knowledge about this, I am now following a training in that field. It actually goes hand in hand with herbal medicine.
