Acupuncture in a child
Young children and babies respond remarkably well and quickly to acupuncture treatment. This is due to the fact that their energy system is still pure and fully developing.
Acupuncture for Vital Energy
A child needs a lot of energy to grow and develop. By addressing common complaints with acupuncture, the child regains balance. This leaves more energy to be a child and grow!
Under Development
In young children, the digestive system is still developing. Babies can therefore suffer a lot from digestion. The immune system also needs to be built up, making children vulnerable to external influences. Bacteria, viruses, smoke, or toxins from the air and vaccinations can quickly throw children off balance. In some children, the complaints become chronic.
Finding Balance
Babies are busy developing a day and night rhythm in the first three months. It is normal for them to wake up at night (a few times).
Although it is also completely normal for slightly older babies and young children to wake up briefly one or more times per night, it can of course happen that a child is anxious or has trouble falling asleep. In most cases, an acupuncturist can provide help and advice.
Complaints
For the following complaints in children, an acupuncture treatment can provide relief or healing:
- colds - eczema
- ear infections - allergy symptoms
- coughing - diarrhea
- asthma - constipation
But even with complaints that are more related to your child's behavior, an acupuncture treatment can help. These complaints can arise as a result of a traumatic event, but also have a physical cause. Think of:
- bedwetting - anxieties
- poor sleep - lack of self-confidence
- poor eating - hyperactive, nervous behavior
- increased sensitivity - concentration disorders
Acupuncture for Children: Not Scary at All!
The acupuncturist uses extra thin needles for children and can also use herbs and moxa. Moxa stimulates acupuncture points with heat. A child can also be treated with special massage techniques such as Tuina and acupressure. Finally, the acupuncturist provides advice and tips on nutrition and lifestyle rules. Often, the effects are noticeable quickly!
