José Hoogeveen
Why did you choose to become an acupuncturist? What or who inspired you?
During my physiotherapy internship, I ended up in an acupuncture practice. 25 years ago, I already had a great interest in discovering the essence of problems; in the relationship between the physical body and the energetic organization, in the relationship between humans and nature. In acupuncture, I find many possibilities to reconnect people with their own nature and the nature around them.

What is your most beautiful experience with a patient?
A child who had ADHD and has become completely themselves again.
What still amazes you in your profession?
About the simplicity and subtlety of the work. That you can achieve so much with so few resources and costs.
Is there something in your practice that embodies the essence of Traditional Chinese Medicine for you?
The image of our practice's logo: a fish in the Chinese Monade. The balance between Yin and Yang brings light, connection (Vesica Pisces), and happiness (the Fish)
